Connor David Neil Bates, 21, of no fixed abode, was given a 48-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, after admitting a string of offences. He pleaded guilty to four charge of assaulting emergency workers in Sunderland, two charges of failing to surrender to custody and three charges of criminal damage to police vehicles. He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
Michael Harvey Johnstone 30, of Newmarket Walk, South Shields, was given a two-year community order after admitting harrassment causing fear of violence. He was fined £250 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

Hide AdPaul Burnett, 26, of Warwick Street, Sunderland, admitted having a knife in a public place. He was given a 12-month community order and fined £360. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.
Candice Richardson, 37, of Salem Street, Sunderland, was given an 18-month conditional discharge after admitting a charge of theft from a shop.
Omar Ayad Wilson, 32, of Arthington Way, South Shields, admitted breaching a community order. He was fined £60.
Paul Anthony Griffiths, 29, of Houghtonside, Houghton, was jailed for a total of 28 weeks and ordered to pay compensation of £150. He admitted two charges of breaching a restraining order and breaching a suspended sentence order.
