Man, 24, arrested in Scotch Estate on suspicion of producing drugs

A man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug in the Scotch Estate, Jarrow.

Witnesses have reported seeing a number of police cars in the Scotch Estate Jarrow on Monday afternoon (August 24).

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 12.15am today (Monday) we arrested a 24-year-old man at an address in Jarrow on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.

“He remains in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
