A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs after a car crashed through a number of gardens in Hebburn.
The driver was believed to have been travelling along Luke’s Lane in Hebburn before crashing through a hedge and through three back gardens of houses on Saint Close at 6pm on Sunday, May 3.
Thankfully no-one was injured in the incident, which only involved one vehicle.
Shocking pictures, which were shared on social media, show a BMW which appeared to have gone through a hedge and three fences.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “It was reported that a car had come off the road and had been driven through a number of residential gardens. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
“Officers attended the scene and a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He has been released under investigation and inquiries are ongoing.”
