South Tyneside thug threatened to bite his mother's ear off in drunken attack in her home
Adam Stewart, 30, also consumed an additional four cans of the same booze ahead of attacking her at her one-bed council home in Greenbank, Jarrow, at 11pm on Wednesday, March 18.
Stewart, of no fixed abode, kicked off when his mother, accused him of contacting her daughter, South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court was told.

Hide AdIn response, he began shouting and swearing and pushed her chest so hard she fell to the ground – and then placed a foot on her chin during the 15-minute assault.
Prosecutor Glenda Beck said the defendant, who had been living at the property, then “stamped on her chest”, telling his mum he had a “hatred” of her and warning, “I’ll bite your ******* ear off”.
Mrs Beck added: “As a result he is arrested and interviewed. He stated that he had drunk three litres of cider and four cans of cider.
“He stated that he was so drunk that he couldn’t remember what had happened and that it wasn’t something he would do.”

Hide AdMrs Stewart was left with redness to her chest and an injured toe and the property damaged, it was said.
The attack was the most serious of nine domestic incidents reported to police by her against her son since December, though none had resulted in criminal charges.
In a victim personal statement read to the court, she said: “I’m petrified of Adam. He has done nothing but cause problems for me at my house.
“He can’t keep treating me like this, I don’t want him back in my home. This is the final straw.”

Hide AdMichelle Stonley, defending, said: “Clearly, there are underlying issues regarding his behaviour.
“He was fully compliant with police. He doesn’t recall the incident at all due to the alcohol he had consumed. He is extremely remorseful.”
Stewart, who pleaded guilty to common assault and criminal damage, was remanded in custody to appear at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Wednesday, April 8.
