Man helped to safety from River Tyne bankside
A man was helpe to safety after concerns were raised about him at a spot close to the River Tyne.
South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade (SSVLB) were called to help the Coastguard and Tynemouth Inshore Lifeboat at Broad Landings, off River Drive, after reports were made expressing concern for his welfare.
The call out was made at 1.20pm and was resolved two hours later, when the man was taken into police custody.
