Hide AdCllr Roberts had intended to be there himself to … help out. However, he is currently self-isolating.
Luckily the man also known as Father Christmas has Santi-bodies and was still able to attend.
Also at the event was Cllr Roberts’ brother Dale Roberts; another very good friend of Santa.
The event was a huge success. Around 240 selection boxes were donated to a team of local volunteers, who then distributed them to spread a little Christmas cheer at the end of a tough 2020.

Hide AdMrs Claus was there too, as were three elves who are friends of Sandra Fay, Donna Foggan and Lyndsey Walton. Singer Blake Robson entertained the public with a few Christmas numbers.
Cllr Roberts was disappointed not to be there in person, but pleased with how the event went.
He said: “There were well over a hundred kids there. All 240 selection boxes were given out, including 40 to the nursery in Simonside.
“We’re a group of lads and lasses round here who help out in the community. I’d like to thank the elves, Mrs Claus, Santa and Blake Robson for what they’ve done. The videos I’ve seen are outstanding.”
