And with the arrival of autumn comes that all-important extra hour in bed, when we change our clocks in line with Greenwich Mean Time.
But when exactly do the clocks go back this month, and why?
In the UK, the clocks change twice a year – going forward by an hour on the last Sunday in March at 1am, and back an hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October.

Hide AdThis year, the clocks will go back on Sunday, October 25 at 2am; changing from British Summer Time to Greenwich Mean Time.
British Summer Time (or Daylight Saving Time) – when the clocks go forward in spring – was first introduced in the early 20th century to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.
In 2021, the clocks will move forward an hour on Sunday, March 28 at 1am.
