Hide AdWarnock, then in charge of Sheffield United, felt Liverpool's defeat at Craven Cottage was a factor in his club's relegation.
However, the 67-year-old spoke of his "admiration" for Benitez ahead of Cardiff's visit to Tyneside.

Hide AdBenitez added: "He's a manager with great experience in the Championship, so I know that it will not be an easy game.
"They have nothing to lose now, so they will come here with no fear.
"It will be a tough game for us, a difficult game and our players they know.
"For us it is crucial that we keep concentrating and be ready to do what we are doing, which is to keep playing football and to keep winning."
