South Tyneside school celebrates good marks in latest inspection
Hedworth Primary School, in Linkway on the Hedworth Estate, Jarrow, was told it required improvement by Ofsted in December 2014 and visited again the next year.
Now it has been rated as good across all categories after its latest inspection.

Hide AdOfficials looked at the effectiveness of leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, the outcomes for pupils and its early years provision.
Gemma Jeynes, who joined the school as an executive headteacher shared with Valley View Primary school, said: “The staff, pupils and parents have worked very hard to ensure the best possible standards of education are provided for the pupils.
“The result is a true reflection of the hard work and dedication of the staff and pupils.
“To achieve a good Ofsted grade in the space of one academic year is a true achievement.

Hide Ad“Not only did the inspection team recognise the achievement of the pupils they also noted that pastoral care was outstanding.”
Chairman of governors amd South Tyneside Mayor, Coun Alan Smith, said: “I am extremely proud that the school has achieved ‘good’ in the Ofsted inspection.
“This is due to the hard work and vision of senior management, governors and all the staff.
“I wish to say a big thank you to them and just as important,to the children in the school who are a credit to their parents.”
