Three arrested after South Shields Metro robbery
At 9pm on Friday police received a report that a 29-year-old man had been assaulted at Tyne Dock Metro Station in South Shields.
He had been approached by a group of strangers, who verbally abused and then punched and kicked him before stealing a small quantity of cash.

Hide AdThe victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as 'serious but non-life threatening' and has since been discharged.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident but three men – aged 35, 20 and 18 – have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
They have been released on police bail and now detectives are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
