Two treated at the scene after collision in South Shields

Emergency services were called to Whiteleas Way, in South Shields, shortly before 11.30pm last night, Friday, August 21, after reports of a two-vehicle accident.
One witness described seeing ‘loads of police, ambulance, and fire engines and a car on its roof’ and said: “It looked pretty bad.”

Hide AdA North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed the service had attended at the scene and two people had received treatment, though neither of them had been so badly hurt that they had needed to be taken to hospital.
“We were called at 23.21 to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic accident in Whiteleas Way, South Shields,” she said.
"We sent a doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance and one of our Hazardous Area Response Teams.
"There were two patients with minor injuries – both were discharged at the scene.”
