Allan Saint-Maximin could miss FOUR more Newcastle United games.

The winger has been sidelined since December 8 with a hamstring problem, and Steve Bruce had hoped to have him available for this afternoon’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Saint-Maximin’s back in training, but Bruce will err on the side of caution given that 22-year-old has been troubled by hamstring problems since early in the season.

Bruce, United’s head coach, said: “Saint-Maximin’s training, but, in an ideal world, I’ll be looking at the end of the month. He’s had a hamstring before, and we have to box clever with him and put some work into him. We know how important he is to us. He’s got to be 100% right.”

If Bruce does wait until the end of the month before bringing Saint-Maximin back, he will also miss the next week’s FA Cup replay against Rochdale and Premier League fixtures against Chelsea and Everton.
