Isaac Hayden says he’s fully fit ahead of Chelsea’s visit to St James’s Park – as Steve Bruce waits on Callum Wilson.

Hayden suffered a hamstring injury in Newcastle United’s 4-1 home defeat to Manchester United last month – and has only played 10 minutes since then. However, the midfielder is now “100% fit” ahead of Saturday’s game against Frank Lampard’s side.

"I think after the Man United game it wasn't quite right – it wasn't 100%,” said Hayden. “We played the Everton game, the team did well, and I only played 10 minutes, but it wasn't 100% then either. I feel 100% now, and ready and raring to go and help the team."

Meanwhile, Wilson limped out of Newcastle’s last game – the 2-0 defeat to Southampton – with a hamstring problem.

The early indications were that the injury was not as serious as first feared, and head coach Bruce will give an update tomorrow.
