Reflecting back on last season, he said: “We forgot to play. We scored a goal and forgot to attack. We learned from that, obviously, but we had a bad, bad day. Everybody understood that and we make a step forward.

Linked with the United job in the summer, City coach Mikel Arteta is one of the bookies' favourites to take over from sacked Unai Emery at former club Arsenal.
Speaking about the rumours, Guardiola said: “He is in the squad, he travels to Newcastle.”
