Newcastle United make decision on striker after Danny Rose move

The left-back is on Tyneside to complete a loan move to the club, which has lost Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett to season-ending injuries.
Rose follows Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro to the club. The pair joined, also on loan, from Schalke 04 and Inter Milan respectively last week.

Hide AdThe Premier League club, 14th in the table ahead of Saturday’s home game against Norwich City, has also been looking at strikers, notably Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen and Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.
However, the Gazette understands that the club, after looking at the available players, does not expect to make any more signings before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline.
United head coach Steve Bruce has maintained all long that he would only bring in players who he feels can improve his squad.
And Newcastle do not believe the right striker is available in this window. Giroud, also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, is understood to want to stay in London if he remains in England.

Meanwhile, there could yet be come outgoings on transfer deadline day. Midfielder Ki Sung-yueng has been told he can leave St James’s Park, while one or more fringe players could also be farmed out.
