Newcastle United takeover talks 'put on hold' after latest blow for Steve Bruce

The 17th-placed club today revealed that Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron will be sidelined until next month.
They suffered injuries they suffered in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. A club statement read: “Newcastle United forwards Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin will be out of action until April after picking up injuries during the Magpies' 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday.”

Hide AdThe Daily Telegraph claim that “takeover conversations have been halted” by Justin Barnes, who had been handling negotiations. The club, it’s claimed is “effectively no longer for sale” while its Premier League status is at stake.
United owner Mike Ashley has been trying to resurrect a £300million takeover through legal action. The proposed sale fell through last summer over the failure of the Premier League to make a timely decision on its approval.
