Staggering Newcastle United injury data reveals the extent of Callum Wilson & Alexander Isak fitness concerns

Newcastle United’s injury crisis has stretched throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

Newcastle United are preparing for their final match of the 2023-24 Premier League season as they look to secure European qualification.

The Magpies currently sit seventh in the table and will have to at least equal Manchester United’s final-day result and hope they lose the FA Cup final to qualify for Europe. Eddie Howe’s side will do that despite having a depleted squad for the majority of the campaign.

Even heading into Brentford, Newcastle will be without Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Lewis Miley, Joe Willock, Matt Targett, Sandro Tonali and the newly injured Tino Livramento. Callum Wilson is expected to return for the final day after suffering with illness for the past two matches.

Looking deeper into Newcastle’s injury situation this season, even key players such as Kieran Trippier and Alexander Isak have missed 10 or more matches this campaign. Nine player have missed more than 20 matches while there are only a select few who haven’t missed any games due to injury.

Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes have both managed to stay fit throughout the season despite a number of knocks. The only games the duo have missed this campaign have been due to suspension.

But Gordon did admit his Achilles was feeling saw following a challenge during Wednesday night’s 3-2 defeat at Manchester United. A further update on Newcastle’s injury situation will be provided ahead of the final day trip to Brentford.

Here is Newcastle’s squad list based on matches missed this season...
