And Lascelles and defensive colleague Emil Krafth are doubtful for tonight’s televised game against Burnley, though Bruce hopes to have winger Allan Saint-Maximin back from an ankle problem.

Hide Ad“Lascelles has got a bit of a hamstring, so that's why he wasn't involved the other night,” said Bruce. “Emil's got a hip problem, so defensively it's leaving us a bit short with (Paul) Dummett and (Ciaran) Clark (already sidelined). However, we've got Fab Schar back, so it's a big, important time. We've played seven games in 21 days.
“We hope that we have all of them ready for a week on Monday, shall we say – that goes for (Matty) Longstaff, Dummett, Clark, and of course (Matt) Ritchie has had his operation, which will keep him out for the next few weeks.”
