The winger, signed as a free agent last summer following the expiry of his Bournemouth contract, has not featured since returning from international duty with Scotland last month. Fraser, troubled by injuries this season, reported back to the club with a groin problem after scoring two goals for his country.
Fraser, 27, remains sidelined ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League home game against fourth-placed West Ham United.

Fraser, under contract at Newcastle until 2025, has made nine Premier League starts for the relegation-threatened club so far this season.
