Stunning pictures as families enjoy the seafront fun at South Shields fireworks display

Thousands of people descended on South Shields seafront for the annual fireworks display.

Taking place on Sunday, the display’s theme for 2019 celebrated 50 years since Apollo 11 landed on the moon and included the rocket launch countdown and hits including Rocket Man by Elton John.
