National award for South Tyneside's Martin Brothers Motor Company

A motor dealer in Hebburn has won a national award after just three years in business.

The Martin Brothers Motor Company, which has its showroom in St Aloysius View, Hebburn, is celebrating winning one of the most sought-after accolades at the Auto Trader Retailer Awards.

The firm, which started in 2016 with just seven cars on offer, won the prestigious Business Initiative of the Year award for routinely stocks between 50 and 100 vehicles.

The business came out on top after a record number of entries in the category.

Nick Martin, managing director said: “We are thrilled to have received this award.

“As a company, we feel very proud that our fresh and modern approach to selling used cars has been recognised by the UK’s biggest used car site.”

He added: “We’ve come a long way in three years. We had the idea of starting the firm in 2015. We opened in 2016 with just seven cars for sale and now regularly have 120 in stock.”

The company also has a service and MOT centre in Blaydon Street, Jarrow.
