The non-profit organization that offers practical, emotional and financial support to cancer patients and their families announced on Saturday, March 14, that it would be temporarily shutting its doors and suspending complimentary therapy services to protect people at risk from the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The organisation, based in Harton Lane in South Shields, said there will still be staff in the building, but the public will not be granted access to the site. However, they plan to run ahead with scheduled therapy appointments by doing sessions over the phone or video calls, and have asked that people call and confirm their times if they have a booked appointment.

“The people that come and see us are very high risk and their safety is important to us.

“We’re still offering services, we’re just unable to run complementary therapy sessions at this time.

“We will do our best to support people under the circumstances.

“If you have any enquiries please give us a ring.”
