Here is a list of things you can do this weekend that you couldn’t in lockdown:

Christmas shopping

All non-essential shops were allowed to reopen across the country on December 2, providing a boost to retailers ahead of the Christmas period.

It means that with just under two weeks to go before Christmas, you can go out and get the remaining presents that you need – just don’t leave it too late.

Meet friends and family in outdoor spaces

Under Tier 3 restrictions, you cannot meet anyone outside of your household or support bubble in a private garden or at most outdoor public venues however there are some exceptions to the rule.

Providing you stick to the “rule of six”, you can meet family and friends who you do not live with in places such as parks, playgrounds, the beach or outdoor sports courts and facilities.

Head to the gym

You don’t have to wait until January to begin your fitness journey, despite the Tier 3 restrictions, you can still visit the gym and leisure centres.
