To get your skin in tip-top shape step up your skin care routine and incorporate a masque once, or preferably, twice a week.

For an immediate glow for clients appearing in front of the camera, I reach for either Charlotte Tilbury’s Multi-Miracle Glow Cleanser, Mask and Balm for baby-soft skin or Glamglow (available from

Prepare your skin with a brightening primer such as Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch to give you the perfect base to apply your make-up. Lancôme Teint Miracle adds a luminous, natural yet flawless finish.

Highlight under the eyes, around the nostrils, across the cheekbones, under brow arches and on the cupids bow of the lips with a highlighting concealer like Chanel Eclat Lumiere in a shade nearest to your skin colour.

Set this with a dusting of super fine loose powder, especially if you have oilier or combination skin. I’m loving my new Charlotte Tilbury Film-star Bronze and Glow palette.

Brush the bronzing shade under cheekbones, under jaw line and blend around the hairline and into temples and a little across the bridge of your nose, think about where the sun catches your face naturally.

Then use the lighter, shimmery shade on top of where you used the highlighting concealer. Finish with a burst of colour on the cheeks – go for a red-based shade, think of that warm, flushed look you get when you come home from a day lying round the pool.

The easiest one to use is Lancôme Blush Subtil in shade 032 Rouge in Love.

The best trick with this is to apply the powder to the tip of a medium blusher brush then sweep this onto the back of your hand until you can barely see the colour, then apply to the parts of your cheeks that pop out when you smile.

Finish with a glossy golden shade on your lids such as Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in shade 95 Mirage or Armani Eyes to Kill shade 5 Gold Blitz. Slick your lashes with an intense black mascara, waterproof if you want extra staying power and a colour statement gloss on your lips and you’ll be bang-on trend this summer.
