The Lakeside Inn in Jarrow has revealed a new plant-based menu with the busy festive period just around the corner.

The new menu is part of the pub’s desire to cater for everyone over Christmas, and manager Carl Mowatt, who is a vegan himself, played a key role in the introduction of the pub’s new selections.

Carl is excited about the new additions, describing his pride in the pub being able to cater for everyone.

He said: “The reaction to the menu has been great. There’s been no negativity towards it all. Even non-vegan customers are keen to try something new and give the vegan options a go.

“There’s a lot of demand in the market for places to offer vegan options, especially at Christmas, and I’m glad we’re involved in that.”
