DO you remember being a fashionably dressed student at South Tyneside College in Shields 30 years ago?

Then you may want to check out a Tyne and Wear Archives and Museum’s blog featuring photographs from that era, that someone has been putting names to.

The pictures were taken by Bob Renaut, who was a lecturer in art, design and photography at South Shields Marine and Technical College and eventually became head of photography.

Most of the people in the snaps - mostly on fashion or hairdressing courses - have remained unidentified since they went on-line a couple of years ago, but archives and museum staff have been delighted to discover recently that a visitor to the site, Neil Simpson, has been able to name some of the lassies seen in one particular group.

They include Sandra Bogey, Donna Metcalfe, Kathryn McCullough, Susan Hewitt and Alison Robertson. Now staff would like to hear if any of them are still out there.

They tell me: “We would like the people who Neil has named to come forward.”
