A REUNION is again to take place in South Shields of members of B Squadron, the Northumberland Hussars.
Last year’s, held at the Royal British Legion Club in Queen Street, was quite a success, I’m told, with not just those of B Squadron itself in attendance, but also quite a few former members of the 15th/19th Kings Royal Hussars.
Colin Lamb, who organises the event, tells me the next get together will be next Friday, April 10, again at the British Legion Club, starting at 7.30pm.
Says Colin: “It is open to former members of B Squadron, Northumberland Hussars, past and present members of The Queen’s Own Yeomanry, former members of the 15th/19th Hussars and past and present members of The Light Dragoons.”
So – get yourselves along.
The Northumberland Hussars has a proud history in the North, going back to 1819.
Now it comes under the newly-constituted and re-roled Queen’s Own Yeomanry, which has been affiliated to The Light Dragoons as part of the Army restructuring plans.
