There’s a musical theme to this week’s picture spread, with photos of The Drifters and Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics.
The pictures of The Drifters – who had hits with the likes of Under the Boardwalk, Save the Last Dance for Me, Up on the Roof, There Goes My Baby, Saturday Night at the Movies, Some Kind of Wonderful and You’re More Than a Number in My Little Red Book – date from 1991 to 1993, and judging by the crowds in the colour shot, the group were still a major attraction when they appeared at what we believe is Bents Park, in South Shields.
Were you one of the many faces in the crowd?
If so, what do you remember about the occasion or any of the other times when the group performed here?
Meanwhile, the images of Dave Stewart were taken in 1990 when the Eurythmics main-man was being filmed at Marsden Rock for a Channel Four documentary.
Did you get a chance to meet him when he was in town?
The Eurythmics had chart success with the likes of Sweet Dreams, Here Comes the Rain Again, There Must Be an Angel and Thorn in My Side.
What are your memories of the group?
