School meals have often suffered from a bad press, but were they really as horrible as some pupils would have you believe?
There are those who will recall having to stomach cold custard, stewed prunes and lumpy gravy. But equally there are others who fondly remember spotted dick and steaming white sauce as well as roasties and spam fritters.
It was all, quite literally, a question of taste, and which school you went to.
