Youngsters will have an even bigger ball after an expansion at a seafront attraction.

The Dunes Adventure Island, in Sea Road, South Shields, has increased the size of its soft play area’s toddler section, adding a ball pit, rope swings, a bigger slide and a mini maze, with the floor space made greater.

People are saying its fantastic, there’s a lot more space for the kids to play.

A mezzanine floor has also been installed.

Liam Connor, marketing manager of the complex, said: “We’ve doubled the floor space of the toddler area, because the area really needed improving.

“The feedback we got was it needed to be greater and there needed to be more for under fours to do.

“Comments have been extremely positive.”

A launch night has been held to welcome customers to put the area to the test, and the business – which is also home to a bowling alley, arcade, a bar and function rooms – is running a half-term deal, where entry for toddlers is £3 during usual school hours – as well as other deals during the holiday.

Free tickets have also been given away online.

Halloween parties will be hosted in the complex tomorrow and on Saturday.
