10 views from northern England which make it into list of Britain's most stunning vistas

Researchers asked the public to vote on the most picturesque views in the UK – and several famous landmarks from the North East made the cut.

Britain's best views, according to an LNER survey.

According to the research, by London North Eastern Railway (LNER), a whopping two thirds of Britons have desperately missed being able to visit UK beauty spots during the past year (67%).

And 58% hope to visit their favourite UK destinations as soon as restrictions are lifted, and it is safe to do so.

Loch Ness topped the poll but here are 10 locations in the north of England which made the top 30.

Lake Windermere in the Lake District was second on the list with 27% saying it was their favourite vista.
Ingleton, in The Yorkshire Dales, came 6th with 24% saying it was their favourite view.
York Minster was 13th on the list with 17% saying it was their favourite.
The view from Stanage Edge in the Peak District, Derbyshire, was 21st on the list with 13%.
Buttermere in the Lake District was placed 22nd with 13% saying it was their favourite view.
Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire is placed 23rd on 13%.
Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland was 24th with 12% saying it was their favourite view.
The Angel of the North, Gateshead, was 26th on 11%.
The Eden Valley in Cumbria is 29th on the list with 10%.
Bamburgh Castle is 30th on the list with 9% saying it is their favourite view.
