Flights from Newcastle to Portugal with Ryanair, EasyJet, Jet2 and British Airways mean there will be up to 14 flights a week following Government green list announcement

Passengers can fly to Portugal from Newcastle on a range of flights during June and July 2021.

Passengers can now choose from two destinations in Portugal across four airlines which will be flying up to 14 times a week from Newcastle airport – Here’s which days you can fly.

Following the Government’s Green List announcement passengers will now be able to fly to Faro and Madeira from Newcastle airport on a range of flights this summer.

The eagerly awaited update has outlined the new traffic light system for foreign holidays from May 17 after overseas leisure travel from the UK was banned under the coronavirus lockdown rules.

Green list locations include Portugal and the Azores as well as Madeira.

In the light of the announcement British Airways put two direct flights a week on sale to Faro, starting from the May 29 as Ryanair, Jet2 and Easyjet resume their flights from June and July.

Nick Jones, CEO of Newcastle International Airport said: "We are pleased that the restart of international leisure travel has been confirmed, although only a very small number of countries have been granted Green List status.

“We hope as the COVID-19 situation improves in Europe more countries and islands will be added to the Green list and we will be able to welcome more airline partners and passengers back to the Airport throughout the summer months.”

Flights to Portugal will be available throughout June and July 2021.
