Runners of all shapes and sizes were among the 57,000 registered to take part in today's 36th Great North Run.
The participants, from the world's top distance athletes to fun runners, faced warm conditions on the 13.1-miles route from Newcastle to South Shields.
Organisers managed to attract competitors from 177 of the 193 UN-registered countries in the world.
