A19 delays after two crashes at junction

Drivers are facing delays on the A19 this morning.

It is understood that two separate smashes have taken place on the northbound carriageway close to the A1231 junction on Hylton Bridge.

NECATraffic tweeted: "#Sunderland two separate collisions close to each other at the A1231 junction Hylton Bridge."

Congestion is backed up towards the A690 junction at Doxford Park.
