Amazing pictures capture Northern Lights in our skies
Our skies were rippling with the colours of the Northern Lights last night.
These great pictures were captured by Glen Hamilton next to Souter Lighthouse.
The phenomenon, known as aurora borealis is caused by the interaction of the solar wind - a stream of charged particles escaping the Sun - and Earth’s magnetic field and atmosphere.
