Appeal after woman is robbed in South Tyneside street

Police are appealing for information after a 49-year-old woman was robbed in South Tyneside.

The robbery happened at about 6.50pm on Saturday, November 19, on John Reid Road in South Shields near to Harton Moor Estate.

A man grabbed a woman's handbag causing her to fall to the ground before running across the road and making off into Temple Park field.

The offender is described as slim build, wearing a light blue hooded top with the hood up and dark bottoms.

Officers are carrying out inquiries and are appealing for witnesses, as the offender ran off across the road he ran into traffic causing cars to stop and beep their horns, and officers are asking these motorists, passengers and dog walkers walking their dogs in the park, who saw the offender to get in contact.
