EXERCISE lovers have extra room to manoeuvre after a Jarrow gym expanded.
Fit4Less in Ellison Street has just unveiled its new studio, which was previously a storage area, at a special launch party.
Fitness expert, and star of the recent BBC1 the Apprentice series, Katie Bulmer-Cooke, went along to help officially open the studio and had the honour of cutting the ribbon.
Mrs Bulmer-Cooke, 29, from Ashbrooke, Sunderland, added: “‘The studio launch was a great success with a fantastic, friendly atmosphere.
“It’s been brilliant to see the transformation within the building space where the studio now is and even more exciting to see how excited the members are to have a cutting edge class timetable.”
For the last few months Mrs Bulmer-Cooke helped to recruit up to four part-time instructors who specialise in group exercise.
She also held auditions and interviewed applicants.
Since its opening in September 2013, the Jarrow gym has already attracted more than 2,000 members.
Charles Buchanan, club owner, said: “We have developed a world class fitness centre in South Tyneside. However we were missing a group exercise studio.
“This has now been completed and arranged with group exercise classes with the North East’s leading instructors. This is the final piece of the jigsaw in developing our fitness centre.”
