Arrogance before safety
I wholeheartedly agree with Bill Pack (July 20) about cyclists ignoring the cycle paths. There is a cycle path which runs the whole length of South Shields coast road all the way to Whitburn but almost every time I drive along, there is someone cycling on the road right next to the cycle path.
They may say that they have a perfect right to use the road but to me it’s arrogance and they’re putting arrogance before safety.
Perhaps, we drivers, should drive on the pavement to avoid the cyclists.
