Gavin Richardson, managing director of Opus Building Services, said: “Providing high-quality accommodation for the older residents in
our community should be a priority, so we were delighted to partner with Galliford TRY to deliver the two new
high-quality independent
living homes in North Tyneside.

“We have established an impressive track record for new build and refurbishment projects of this type in the region and work extensively in the care and health sectors from sheltered housing right through to critical care installations.

“Opus Building Services managed all specialist mechanical & electrical design and services installations including ventilation, the heating mains system, external and emergency lighting, emergency call systems and CCTV and plumbing – whilst sister company Opus Green collaborated with the provision of all Solar PV installations for both care homes.”

The new-build homes for those over 60 include a mixture of one and two -bedroom apartments with access to either via a semi-private patio or a Julietter balcony.

Within the building there are also large communal lounges as well as a smaller quiet room; a therapy room for use by health and personal care professionals such as hairdressers; landscaped communal gardens, and even a guest apartment where family and friends can stay.

Opus Building Services provides specialist electrical, heating and plumbing services across a range of sectors including; commercial and retail, healthcare, education, sports and leisure as well as industrial and manufacturing.

Galliford TRY is one of the UK’s leading housebuilding and constructions groups, with revenues of £2.3billion..
