BT on board for Best of South Tyneside Awards

A leading communications company is getting set to recognise courageous children in the borough at the Best of South Tyneside Awards.

BT South Tyneside has said it is delighted to be coming on board to sponsor the Child of Courage accolade in Gazette’s annual awards.

Iain McKie, acting COO at BT, said: “BT South Tyneside are once again extremely pleased to continue to support the Best of South Tyneside Awards and specifically the Child of Courage Award in 2018.

“Good luck to all the entrants from all of us at BT.”

BT is one of the region’s largest private sector employers, with major centres in locations such as Darlington, Sunderland, Gosforth, South Shields, Newcastle and North Tyneside.

Among the company’s achievements in the North East is the creation of a high-speed, fibre broadband network which is already available to more than a million homes and businesses, and is continuing to grow rapidly.

The Best of South Tyneside awards, this year, have the backing of Barbour, Northumbrian Water, Harlow Printing, JML, UTS Engineering Ltd, Warmseal and South Tyneside College.

The finals evening, compered by Ray Spencer from The Customs House, will also feature the ever-popular Young Performer category.
