An East Boldon man has taken on a new role with Jennings Motor Group.
Andrew Hogarth has been promoted to workshop controller and transferred to the company’s service department in Washington.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the motor industry, 50-year-old Andrew has taken on the new role at the group’s Ford and Kia service department in Parsons Road.
Prior to the recent promotion and transfer, he worked as a senior technician and also assisted workshop control within the service department at the group’s Ford Direct branch in Newcastle Road, South Shields.
He said: “I am delighted with the promotion, but at the same time, I was sad to be leaving my colleagues at the South Shields dealership, where I have made many friends.
“But this is another step on the career ladder for me and a challenge I am very much looking forward to.”
After leaving school at the age of 16, Andrew completed a three-year apprenticeship and became a qualified motor vehicle technician.
Over the years he has gained valuable experience working for a number of motor dealers across the region.
He started working for Jennings Motor Group seven years ago.
Welcoming him on board, service manager, June Appleyard, said: “Andrew has a wealth of experience and knowledge, which made him the ideal candidate for the position.
“He is a keen team player and already is proving to be an asset within the service department.”
The group’s service department at Washington, which is located near the Jennings Kia car showroom, primarily provides both service and MoT facilities to Ford and Kia customers, in addition to being able to cater for all other manufacturers.
