A SOUTH Tyneside company is powering up for expansion after taking on staff and growing its business base.

Advanced Renewable Power (ARP), based at the One Trinity Green business centre, in Eldon Street, South Shields, has taken on sector expert Jonathan Walker, boosting its core workforce to seven in response to growth across the North East and the Scottish Borders.

Mr Walker, 31, will further develop the firm’s success in niche areas of design, supply installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems for business, commercial premises and the domestic market.

These include a variety of creative solutions, including a number of solar technologies.

ARP has also taken over an additional unit at One Trinity Green, for extra warehousing and showroom space.

The South Shields company recently staged an information day for the public, in response to a big increase in demand for green energy advice. Technical director Mark Dunville, 31, who co-founded ARP in 2011, said: “It is important that we break down barriers that are preventing some from benefiting from renewable energy.

“Many people have yet to fully explore exactly what solar power and other renewable sources can bring them and how much money they can make on their energy bills.

“For example, solar panels can bring quite drastic savings. People know the theory but don’t necessarily know how to take that first step towards it.

“We have a young, passionate team, motivated by a desire to advance renewable energy to benefit the environment.” ARP’s bespoke energy packages have been receiving 100 per cent customer satisfaction ratings.

Plans for the future include penetrating new markets and the company also hopes to announce new key contracts soon.

ARP also specializes in energy efficiency technology, such as heat pumps, underfloor heating and biomass boilers.

Staff also provide expert advice on available finance to householders and Government-backed green initiatives.
