A South Shields print company is celebrating after securing two big contracts which will help boost the business.

Panda Prints has been given the work to create a range of printed goodies and merchandise for two anime events.

We were the only company able to provide all the items within the timescale.

The first – SunnyCon 4 Japanese Anime and Culture – took place in Sunderland while the second, Sunny Con 5, will be held in Newcastle.

The company has also been contracted to print merchandise for the SunnyCon online shop.

Anime is a popular Japanese style of animation featuring either hand-drawn or computer animated characters and graphics.

Panda Prints, run by Sara Hickman, had only been trading for two months when the contracts were won.

Former call centre worker Sara, an anime enthusiast, said: “We secured this order after meeting the convention organisers at a local networking event.

“The client needed the items for their sponsor packs and had already received several quotes for the work.

“However, we were the only company able to provide all the full-colour print items needed to the timescales and budgets that were required.”

Panda Prints was launched six months ago with the help of Tedco. It specialises in providing a range of printed items personalised to client order.
