A NETWORKING group is riding on the crest of a wave as almost £2m of business has been shared among its members.
New Wave is Network was launched by businessman Carl Mowatt, two years ago, to help local traders and those self-employed boost their profiles.
Since then, then group has grown in numbers and to date has helped its members share almost £2m worth of business.
Donations have also been made to local charities including South Tyneside-based Cancer Connections.
Founder Mr Mowatt, who runs a printing firm in South Tyneside as well as Otto Restaurant, said: “Since we launched two years ago we have helped local traders to swap almost £2m worth of business between them.
“When it first launched it was about bringing people from local businesses together, to give them support and where people can swap ideas on business success.
“Since then, New Wave is Network has branched out into areas within Sunderland and Newcastle and it’s great we have been able to help local businesses thrive.”
The New Wave is Network groups meet twice a month. In South Shields, meetings are held at Otto Restaurant, based within the Hedworth Hall, in Dean Road, South Shields.
It is open to sole traders, limited companies, one man bands and blue chip organisations.
Mr Mowatt added: “The feedback we have had from our members has been great, with a lot being learned from one another.
“We are always open to new members to come along and join us and see what we can offer your business.
“As well as business networking we also offer support to one another.
“And as the group goes into it’s third year, I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for our members.”
New Wave is Network will hold its next meeting on January 15 at noon at Otto restaurant.
