SOUTH Tyneside showed it means business in a glittering awards ceremony last night.
About 300 guests gathered in a futuristic-style marquee at Gypsies Green Stadium at South Shields seafront for the 2012 South Tyneside Business Awards.
The coveted title of Business of the Year went to South Shields hi-tech company, MCPS Limited.
Managing director Glenn English declared he was “delighted” with the honour, and revealing plans to boost his workforce over the next two years.
Organised by South Tyneside Business Forum, with support from South Tyneside Council, and with the Gazette featuring among numerous sponsors, the inaugural awards event is set to become an annual fixture in the borough’s commercial calendar.
