Carnival fever enjoyed at fun day
Families flocked to the free event which saw its biggest ever turnout last Saturday.
There was a feast of activities and entertainment on offer, including craft stalls, a funfair, a miniature zoo and demonstrations.
The highlight of this year’s event was a spectacular carnival, staged by performance production company The Creative Seed.
The Mayor, Councillor Alan Smith, said: “It was a fabulous day with something for people of all ages to enjoy.
“We were blessed with good weather and there was a really great turnout.”
The annual Fun Day is part of the Jarrow Festival, which sees community events and activities happening at venues across the town over a 10-day period.
