A SOUTH Tyneside couple are set to have the wedding of their dreams after raising thousands of pounds for charity in a competition.
Stacey Normandale and Graeme Ballands took on a head-to-head charity challenge for the chance to have their wedding paid for.
They had to raise as much cash as possible for Metro Radio’s Cash for Kids appeal in two weeks.
Stacey and Graeme raised £13,191.46, with the help of family and friends who rallied behind the pair to help make their dream wedding come true.
The wedding package includes a wedding ceremony, drink and canapes reception, three-course wedding breakfast with wine, evening buffet and live entertainment as well as overnight accommodation at Macdonald Lindon Hall Hotel, dresses for the bride and bridesmaids, groomswear, wedding cake, cars, photographer, room decorations, stag party, photo-booth hire, white doves, bridal jewellery and honeymoon courtesy of Thomas Cook.
The couple will also have individually designed wedding rings from Clusters Bespoke Jewellery.
Stacey, 27, a business centre manager, said: “I’m just so happy, we worked our backsides off for this, and I can’t believe it. Whatever the outcome, we were really proud of the amount we’d raised for Cash for Kids and we’ve loved the whole experience.”
Graeme, 28, an engineer, said: “I’m fighting back the tears to be honest.
“I want to thank all of our family and friends for their amazing support, we couldn’t have done it without them.”
Cash for Kids helps disabled and disadvantaged children in this region.
