Court Round-up: Drugs possession, assaulting police and receiving stolen goods

The following people have been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates Court:

Kayleigh Pallister, 31, of Laybourn Gardens, South Shields, was fined £120 and ordered to pay compensation of £50 after admitting assaulting a police officer in the execution of her duty in South Shields, on Friday, January 1, as well as further charges of being drunk and disorderly in a public place and being in possession of cocaine from the same date.

She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Michael Patterson, 37, of Toner Avenue, Hebburn, was given an absolute discharge after admitting being in possession of cannabis in South Shields on Thursday, December 24.

Kieran McDonald, 23, of Monkton Avenue, South Shields, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting dishonestly receiving stolen goods, namely a mountain bike, in South Shields on Tuesday, January 12.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.

Terence Miller, 51, of Windsor Crescent, Hebburn, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £100 compensation after admitting charges of using threatening abusive or insulting words against another person in South Tyneside and damaging a double glazed window belonging to South Tyneside Council on Saturday, January 9.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85.

Brian Teasdale, 56, of Beach Road, South Shields, was fined £60 after being found guilty of being drunk and disorderly in Western Approach, South Shields, on Monday, January 11.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Adam Weetman, of Vespasian Street, South Shields, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting being drunk and disorderly in Olive Street, South Shields, on Sunday, January 17. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £15 victim surcharge.
