Unless otherwise stated, they were all locked up after admitting offences at Newcastle Crown Court. They are all either from the area or have committed offences within the borough.
5. John Caizley
Caizley, 71, of Chaucer Avenue, South Shields, was jailed for fours years in July after he was found guilty of two counts of inciting a child and three counts of sexual assault by touching.
6. Kenneth Cook
Cook, 26, of Bensham Bank, Gateshead, was jailed for 15 years in August after he pleaded guilty to blackmail and was convicted of kidnap and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The offences took place in South Shields and Hebburn.
7. Graham Edmond
Edmond, 36, of Gaskell Avenue, South Shields, was jailed for three years in August for possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and a breach of a restraining order.
8. John Kyle
Kyle, 30, of Ribble Walk, Jarrow, was found guilty in August of kidnap and blackmail and jailed for 10 years.
