Arrests after car stolen from pub car park

FOUR people have been arrested after a car was stolen from a pub car park in South Tyneside.

The theft happened just after 4.20pm, on Sunday, June 8, at the Marsden Inn, in Marsden Lane, South Shields.

The car owner left his keys on an outside table while he went into the pub.

The keys were picked up and the vehicle was stolen. However, it was recovered a short distance away in Farding Square.

Police have arrested four men, two aged 23, a 22-year-old and 20-year-old, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. All four have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with information about the theft to contact them.
